Heaven's no-bake chocolate cakes


Heaven's no-bake chocolate cakes: A simple but very naughty treat for the bank holiday weekend. Heaven is my gorgeous niece, who I have been baking with since she was a tiny. We've had great fun in the kitchen & I'm delighted to say she still has a real passion for cooking & baking at 14. We had a gorgeous day together & when we got home Heaven was keen to bake something. Sadly we didn't have time, so I made up the ingredients ready to take home, e-mailed the recipe & Heaven made the cakes when she returned home 20130525-210931.jpg

Ingredients 5 * 60g Mars bars 50g butter 120g Rice Krispies 200g milk eating chocolate


Method Line a 12-hole standard muffin tray with paper cases


Chop 4 of the Mars bars coarsely; cut remaining bar into slices


Place the chopped bars into a medium saucepan with the butter and stir over a low heat until smooth

Stir in the Rice Krispies

Press the mixture into the cases

Melt the chocolate in a small glass bowl placed over a small saucepan of water on a very low heat

TIP: When melting chocolate the bowl should not come into contact with the water in the saucepan below & the chocolate should melt very slowly, it takes approx 10 minutes

Spread the chocolate over the top of the rice crispy mixture

Top with the sliced Mars bar


Refrigerate for about 30 minutes or until set


Sadly Heaven lives an hour away so I don't get to sample any of the cakes but have it on good authority from Heaven & the rest of the family that they are delicious!!! Michelle & our ABEILLE guest baker extraordinaire Heaven XX
