With Fathers Day fast approaching I asked my hubby what he would like to do & his request was watch the Grand Prix, have homemade lasagne & my tear & share Parmesan garlic bread. I'm only too happy to oblige as he really is a very wonderful Dadda Using 1/2 of the quantity of the Zed's bread recipe follow these steps from the proving stage.
Additional Ingredients A handful of Parmesan Cheese (dried or fresh) 2 cloves of garlic 4 tbsns good quality butter Proving Mix a handful of Parmesan cheese into the bread dough TIP: Try to just incorporate the cheese rather then over-work I then cut the bread into 20 similar size pieces, this is best achieved by cutting the dough into 4 pieces & then each into 5 Shape each piece of dough into a ball & place into a pre-greased tin, starting with one ball in the middle & the other dough balls around in two circle Cover with something large enough not to touch the bread or oil cling film with a light spray of oil so it doesn't stick Place in a warm place for approx 40 minutes or until the dough has doubled in size Baking When doubled in size place into a preheated oven @200 Celsius /190 fan oven Bake for 20 minutes You will know the loaf is ready if you tap the underside of the loaf and it sounds hollow all the way along, if it doesn't sound hollow bake or another 5 minutes & repeat the tap check again The garlic butter Crush/mince a few cloves of garlic and mix with approx 4 tablespoons of good quality butter, melt gently in oven which should still be warm from baking the bread
The final steps When you are ready to eat the bread warm gently in the oven @ 150 Celsius/ 300 Fahrenheit for 10-15 minutes & then brush with garlic butter & serve immediately...Enjoy! Michelle x
