What to Expect when you're expecting - The ONLY pregnancy book you will need: I love keeping track of my pregnancy & knowing exactly which milestones my developing baby has achieved, whether that's growing eye lashes or brain development, it helps me feel close to my baby knowing what it's experiencing. It's also great to read about the mummy symptoms & understand that leg cramp is entirely normal at this stage even if I am hoping around the room at 3am, now I have a glass of milk before bed & it has eased. Phone Apps and the Internet are great but hubby & I love reading through What to Expect when you're expecting in bed each week, giving our new baby some special time without interruptions, all technology banned!!
It's so comforting to have a wealth of information at my finger tips, recently I have been recalled for blood tests by the midwife as my glucose readings were high and my iron low, it was really reassuring to read about both of these issues in What to Expect when you're expecting and it was reassuring to have the advise reiterated by the midwife. Both are being monitored by blood tests, I'm taking an iron supplement & watching the sugar intake.. What to Expect when you're expecting has been completely revised & updated fourth edition. This is a cover-to-cover, chapter-by-chapter, line-by-line revision and update. It's a new book for a new generation of expectant mums, featuring a fresh perspective and a friendlier-than-ever voice. Heidi Murkoff has rewritten every section of the book, answering dozens of new questions and including loads of new asked-for material, such as a detailed week-by-week foetal development section in each of the monthly chapters, an expanded chapter on pre-conception, and a brand new one on carrying multiples.
The Fourth Edition incorporates the most recent developments in obstetrics and addresses the most current lifestyle trends (from tattooing and belly piercing to Botox and aromatherapy). There's more than ever on pregnancy matters practical (including an expanded section on workplace concerns), physical (with more symptoms, more solutions), emotional (advice on riding the mood roller coaster), nutritional (from low-carb to vegan, from junk food-dependent to caffeine-addicted), and sexual (what's hot and what's not in pregnant lovemaking), as well as much more support for that very important partner in parenting, the dad-to-be. Overflowing with tips, helpful hints and humour (a pregnant woman's best friend), this new edition is more accessible and easier to use than ever before. It's everything parents-to-be have come to expect from What to Expect...only better.
