A weekend break in Cornwall Our lovely friends Jenny and Sam invited us on a weekend break to Bude in Cornwall. Jenny had found this amazing site online which is like the ULTIMATE glamping holiday. Here is the link http://www.atlanticsurfpods.co.uk/ It took us about 5 hours to drive there, which after our journey down to France was relatively easy. On arrival we were greeted by Nete and Peter and shown to our amazing Pods!! We had the back two Pods which were lovely, you got a great view being in the middle. The layout reminded us a bit of the Teletubbies, they have created their own little world here. Because we arrived in the afternoon, we decided that it would be nice to have a BBQ and settle in, so the boys head off to the shops and us girls got settled in. The rooms are very basic but incredibly clever. We has a king size bed (made beautifully by Nete), USB points to charge phones and computers, but no plug sockets. A wooden table/box filled with all your dining needs, a battery powered light and torch and two gigantic bean bags. Florence had an amazing time running around, checking out all the animals and running between our two pods. By 7pm she was out like a light and we sat down and discussed our plan for the next day... Sam and Jenny suggested St. Ives which I was very happy about, I have wanted to visit for years! I forgot how amazing the beaches were in Cornwall, the sand is gooey and so much of it! A huge improvement to what we have been used to in Brighton. Florence enjoyed the freedom to run, and she ran... I can tell you! We bought Florence a net and went Crabbing, she loved it, especially as we found quite a few, the tide was out so it was perfect! I cannot recommend Cornwall enough, especially when taking children away with you, there is something for everyone! The next day we took Florence to see the Donkey on the farm. She could hear it making noises all morning, so when we got up it was the first thing on the list before we made our way into Bude for breakfast. It was so lovely seeing Jon and Florence spend some quality time together. Huge thanks to Jenny and Sam for inviting us, we had such a wonderful time and all the better to have spent it with great friends.
