A Date at the Ceramic Shack There are so many things that I do with Florence and as she gets older I find that we enjoy the activities so much more together. Michelle and I are so busy it can often be 2 weeks and we realise that we have not been out just the four of us for a while. So we put a date in the diary and had a think of something fun for all of us. Michelle suggested the Ceramic Shack which has recently opened in Horsham. I love anything arty and so does Florence so that was great for us. When we arrive we are greated by two lovely ladies who showed us to a table, then Florence and Oliver chose what they were going to paint, got their aprons and chose their colours. To begin with they sponged their objects with water to get off any dust... all going well at this point! There was time for a quick kiss, they really do absolutely adore one another. Such a special friendship. Florence chose to paint a heart that will then hang in her bedroom. Firstly we chose a nice light colour as the base. Oliver picked a fire engine, needless to say the inspiration came from Fireman Sam. Half way through they took a break and had a drink and a snack, we bought our own but there is a good selection available to buy. Michelle and I couldn't resist at this point to touch up the master pieces that Oliver and Florence were creating. Once finished we hand them over to the two lovely ladies and they will glaze them for us. Florence and Oliver were so good, we stopped off for Ice cream. We had such a great day and would highly recommend the Ceramic Shack. A perfect thing to do with Christmas coming up to give loved ones a special present. When Florence was 6 months I took her to a pottery cafe and we did foot and hand prints on Christmas balls, cups, coaster etc..
