A Date at the Ceramic Shack

A Date at the Ceramic Shack There are so many things that I do with Florence and as she gets older I find that we enjoy the activities so much more together. Michelle and I are so busy it can often be 2 weeks and we realise that we have not been out just the four of us for a while. So we put a date in the diary and had a think of something fun for all of us. Michelle suggested the Ceramic Shack which has recently opened in Horsham. I love anything arty and so does Florence so that was great for us. When we arrive we are greated by two lovely ladies who showed us to a table, then Florence and Oliver chose what they were going to paint, got their aprons and chose their colours. 20131009-201601.jpg To begin with they sponged their objects with water to get off any dust... all going well at this point! 20131009-201643.jpg There was time for a quick kiss, they really do absolutely adore one another. Such a special friendship. 20131009-201718.jpg Florence chose to paint a heart that will then hang in her bedroom. Firstly we chose a nice light colour as the base. 20131009-201748.jpg Oliver picked a fire engine, needless to say the inspiration came from Fireman Sam. 20131009-201820.jpg Half way through they took a break and had a drink and a snack, we bought our own but there is a good selection available to buy. 20131009-201853.jpg Michelle and I couldn't resist at this point to touch up the master pieces that Oliver and Florence were creating. 20131009-201931.jpg Once finished we hand them over to the two lovely ladies and they will glaze them for us. 20131009-202001.jpg Florence and Oliver were so good, we stopped off for Ice cream. 20131009-202036.jpg We had such a great day and would highly recommend the Ceramic Shack. A perfect thing to do with Christmas coming up to give loved ones a special present. When Florence was 6 months I took her to a pottery cafe and we did foot and hand prints on Christmas balls, cups, coaster etc..

What does it cost? You pay a £4.50 studio fee per painter to use the facilities we offer then choose from a our range plates, mugs, money boxes, ornaments and many other ceramic items for as little as £4.00

Check it out whilst there is still time!
