Flossie's favourite films So recently I have been experimenting with Films that I think Florenece would like to watch, I know that generally the TV programs designed for toddlers are educational but sometimes it is nice for us both to sit down, chill and actually enjoy the same thing on the telly!
Here are a few favourites...
SWALLOWS AND AMAZONS John, Susan, Titty and Roger sail their boat, Swallow, to a deserted island for a summer camping trip. Exploring and playing sailors is an adventure in itself but the island holds more excitement in store. Two fierce Amazon Pirates, Nancy and Peggy, challenge them to war and a summer of battles and alliances ensues. As soon as I turn this on Florence jumps up and down and starts shouting "Island!" So I think she kind of gets it. I love the innocence of this film, the children speak so beautifully it is very easy for Florence to understand. TINKERBELL Long before Peter Pan and the Lost Boys soared into Never Land, the world’s most beloved fairy and her friends were creating their own special magic. For the very first time in film, Tinker Bell opens the doors to Pixie Hollow, a secret hideaway deep in the heart of Never Land, where the Disney Fairies make their home. Fairies are one of Floreneces favourite things at the moment... I encourage this, every little girl should believe in fairies! ICE AGE 3 DAWN OF THE DINOSAURS Florence and I love this, the humour suits all ages, perfect for a lazy Sunday morning on the sofa. CASPER This was actually Florences first ever film. When we were in France in August we stayed at my parents. They have no phone, no television connection and no internet.....only now do I see the beauty of this! But they do have a DVD player and a televison! Mum had bought Florence CASPER on the off chance she would need some down time-and she did! Every morning after Dad and Florence had popped to the local Patisserie to collect croissants, CASPER would be put on and we would watch it over breakfast. SHREK Last but not least... Florences absolute favourite film, and I have to say, I don't get bored of it either! Although I am not allowed to sing along anymore... I think I ruin it for Florence. We do not get much time on our own at home together so this is the perfect way to chill with your toddler once in a while, OR if like me you have a busy schedule and need to get things done... you know you have a good hour to do it in.
I know our kitten Tooie appreciates the break!
