Reindeer food I was looking for something fun to do with Florence to get her excited this evening. I searched through Pinterest and found this activity that I can do with her this afternoon and she can proudly lay out food for Father Christmas' reindeer before she goes to bed. Children love making this easy recipe for sparkling reindeer food. There is something magical about sprinkling this glittery mixture outside on Christmas Eve. Reindeer food easy to make and if you want to make it for others, just place it in a small plastic sandwich bag, tie it up with a curly ribbon and add a tag with the special verse (use the one below or write your own) for a special Christmas Eve treat that Santa’s reindeer will appreciate. Magic Reindeer Food Recipe Raw Oatmeal (uncooked oats – do not use instant packets) Glitter (mix up silver, gold, green, red) Plastic sandwich bags Ribbon Paper Pour about 1/8 cup of oatmeal in the plastic bags. Add some glitter. Close baggie with ribbon. Shake to mix. If you’d like to add a tag to the bag of reindeer food, this is the traditional poem used for the reindeer food tag: “On Christmas Eve, sprinkle this wonderful Reindeer Food on your lawn. The shiny glitter will sparkle in the moonlight and the smell of oats will guide Rudolph to your home.”
I cannot wait to sprinkle our special food this evening, sorry I don't have my own pictures to put up, (I will try and add some later) it would have been too late and there is only one Christmas Eve a year!
