A celebration of life & reflection: Today I was celebrating the life of my brother in-laws grandmother Elizabeth Ester Evison, a lovely woman who I have had the pleasure of knowing for the past 20 years. I have never had a grandmother as both of my grandmothers sadly passed away before I arrived into the world, but I felt very lucky to have shared Michael's Nan.
Nan was a kind & gentle woman with a natural smily disposition. She always had time for everyone & was a wonderful grandmother, who extended her love to the entire family not just my sister. It was lovely listening to the reflection of her life today through her son & grandsons readings. Michael shared that manners & family values were very important to Nan, a lady that had lived through two world wars but never appeared or mentioned the word stress, a word that is so frequently used today.
It really was a beautiful service that was so personal & intimate. Charlotte accompanied me to the service, a celebration of a wonderful life & everyone seemed to appreciate Charlotte joining in with the hymns, she was made very welcome.
All to often life is busy & we forget to stop & smell the roses but today we took the children out for dinner & then to the park at our usual bath time, to let them enjoy the last few hours of sunshine instead. Thank you Nan for reminding me to treasure every moment. Michelle x
