Celebrating our 11th wedding anniversary at South Lodge: Our anniversary breakfast may have been coffee & toast watching Disney Cars at 8.00am but after dropping the children off to auntie Lisa & uncle Michael we celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary (18 years together) with lunch at the beautiful South Lodge hotel. Upon arrival Ben ordered two ice cold glasses of Perrier Jouet Champage which we enjoyed looking out at the beautiful views from the terrace whilst reading the menu. We decided to try The Camellia restaurant, The Sunday lunch menu is £29.50 & even as a dairy free diner I really was given a lovely choice of dishes, which to be honest doesn't happen in many places. Our meal was faultlessly delicious, beautifully presented & made even more special when the head chef Steven Edwards (who had recently won MasterChef: The Professional 2013), popped out to say happy anniversary & serve us our main course. The staff were very lovely, attentive & also very accommodating when we wanted to take our coffees on to the lawn & soak up the sun rays on the deck chairs, we really had the perfect day! I don't often get much time alone with my hubby during the day as we are so busy with the children, but I have to say it really was fabulous to have some special time for us. A special thank you to my sister & Michael for looking after the Children & to our gorgeous friends Will & Cherry who bought me a South Lodge voucher for my birthday, we had a wonderful time! Rainy day lunch at Pho

Daisy

Rainy day lunch at Pho A sunny day is usually followed by a rainy day, and when it rains it pours. We have got to stage with our toddlers that unless you stay at home, build camps, run around in circles round the coffee table, or wortly plonk them in front of the telly each day, then you have to go our whatever the weather! So Charlotte and I decided to brave the weather and head into town for lunch! 20140527-144801-53281226.jpg Pho is our favourite place to go - with or without the kids! When you are hungry the food is filling, not greasy, and quickly served, I usually have the noodle soup - amazing! Everything looks so fresh and you leave trying to plan when you can next visit - preferably with someone else so you can pretend that you haven't been for ages....... 20140527-144801-53281411.jpg They are great with children. The patience of the staff is great and they always make Florence feel welcome on each visit. When we sit down Florence gets a childrens menu, she usually has the egg rice and ice cream for dessert. 20140527-144801-53281589.jpg These girls really are best buddies, so lovely to watch them learn and grow together! Right I am off to have lunch at Pho!

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend in the sun and rain.

Oliver & Flossie hit the seaside

Daisy

Oliver & Flossie hit the seaside We had not had a good day out for a couple of weeks. Michelle and I try our hardest to see each other seperate to work... which does not happen enough at the moment. It is very easy to get swamped into the day to day life of a mummy and before you know it the weeks pass! So on a beautiful sunny day we hit the beach and succumbed to being a tourist of Brighton. First stop Brighton Pier... 20140415-141310.jpg Florence and Oliver enjoyed an ice cream and had a cheeky ice cream kiss which I just managed to catch a photo of. 20140415-141317.jpg The view from the pier was gorgeous, great photo opportunities. Florence and Oliver loved giggling, it was so infectious they didn't stop for about 10 minutes. 20140415-141302.jpg Michelle and I often joke about Florence and Oliver getting married when they are older, we couldn't resist getting a picture of this... 20140415-141324.jpg The rides on the pier looked a little scary... well me and Michelle tought so! So we decided to head down to the seafront where there are more toddler friendly rides. 20140415-141255.jpg They loved the little train which had individual bells in each section. 20140415-141334.jpg After they had been on a few more rides we felt we desrved a jug of pimms outside the Brighton music hall. The live music there is always good. Florence has a boogie whilst mummy gets to chill! 20140415-141344.jpg How exciting to think we have many more days like this over summer, Florence just loves spending long days outside seeing her friends.

Enjoy the weather

Mummy mojito

Daisy

Mummy mojito Ok so I added the 'Mummy' to the name of this title purely because I am a mummy and I needed a mojito after all the excitement of the kittens this week! I found this great recipe on the Esquire website and it involves no shaking, just lots of rum... and a few other ingredients! 20140423-071711.jpg Ingredients... 1/2 ounce lime juice 1 teaspoon superfine sugar 3 leaves mint 2 ounces white rum club soda 20140423-071720.jpg Glass Type: old-fashioned glass Instructions... In a smallish Collins glass, muddle lime juice with 1/2 to 1 teaspoon superfine sugar.* Add the few mint leaves, mushing them against the side of the glass. Fill glass 2/3 with cracked ice and pour in the rum.** Pitch in the squeezed-out lime shell and top off with club soda or seltzer. Serve with a stirring rod. Perfect for dinner parties to wow your guests or even as an early evening drink in the sun. I actually love this without any alcohol in. Very refreshing for a daytime drink.

The launch of Abeille's first product!

Daisy

The launch of Abeille's first product! Sorry for the delay uploading this post, It has taken up until now for everything to sink in. On Saturday we packed our bags (all eight of them!!) and got on the road by 8am on our route to Harrogate. Michelle and I were launching the first product for our Abeille Baby range. The Harrogate International baby fair is the UK's premier nursery trade event attracting almost every manufacturer and supplier of baby goods in the UK.... hence why we are VERY excited!! 20140327-192118.jpg We didn't even have time to unpack after our five hour drive so headed straight to the fair. The product we are launching are Cellular blankets.... but these essential items are not the basic, bland, crispy pieces of material that you are told to buy on your baby list. These Cellular blankets are Simple - YES... Beautiful - YES... Essential - YES. We have taken a simple, essential blanket and transformed it by using a beautiful colour palet, increased the weight to make it bouncy and soft on your babies skin, (it is after all the only blanket you will be requiring for the first few months) and worked really hard on a very stylish logo so that you will be wanting ONLY an Abeille cellular blanket for your baby. 20140327-192127.jpg It was a last minute idea that we exhibit, we only found out about the show about a month before, so with an incredible amount of effort - or I should really say Blood, sweat and tears from myself, Michelle and our manufacturers, we were very proud of what we achieved. Our stand looked beautiful and ready to entice any buyer passing by! 20140327-192137.jpg Michelle's beautiful little girl Charlotte was our lucky mascot indeed. We got an incredible amount of interest/orders and were pretty overwhelmed by some of the buyers that came to speak to us. 20140327-192146.jpg The days were spent on our feet from 8am to 6pm, chatting to interested buyers and getting tips from our lovely friends on neighbouring stands. 20140327-192159.jpg The evenings were spent drinking wine and filling in the boys with the days events. I officially have the best BBP (Best business partner) EVER! 20140327-192225.jpg Daddy day care went pretty smoothly. The boys were an amazing support to us, we couldn't have done it without them. Thank you Ben and Jon for everything - Best daddies ever! 20140327-192237.jpg Although they did learn the hard way that a day full of treats had concequences.... 20140327-192248.jpg Now I have a long list of people to call and email, designs to work on and meetings to arrange!! I do not know where to start??? But watch this space because in 3 months time Abeille Cellular blankets will be hitting the shelves... you saw it here first!

Lots of love and excited dancing round the lounge...
