50/50 vegetable juice

50/50 vegetable juice This morning I decided to make a tasty Juice. I have been trying to use more vegetables than fruit recently more for Florence's benifit than mine. But today I had so many gorgeous ingredients I decided to go 50/50. 20140424-130659.jpg Ingredients... 2 apples 2 oranges 3 small carrots handful of strawberries handful of spinach half a thumb of ginger 1/4 beetroot 1/6 lemon

Serves 2 20140424-130716.jpg Put it all in the blender, a good tip I have learnt is put soft leaves and fruit inbetween hard fruit and veg. This way when it goes through the shoot you get more of the juice out than if it was surrounded by nothing. Hope that makes sense! 20140424-130707.jpg

I love experimenting, just put anything in and see how it tastes. It is always a nice surprise when it comes out yummy.

Happy juicing!

Mummy mojito

Mummy mojito Ok so I added the 'Mummy' to the name of this title purely because I am a mummy and I needed a mojito after all the excitement of the kittens this week! I found this great recipe on the Esquire website and it involves no shaking, just lots of rum... and a few other ingredients! 20140423-071711.jpg Ingredients... 1/2 ounce lime juice 1 teaspoon superfine sugar 3 leaves mint 2 ounces white rum club soda 20140423-071720.jpg Glass Type: old-fashioned glass Instructions... In a smallish Collins glass, muddle lime juice with 1/2 to 1 teaspoon superfine sugar.* Add the few mint leaves, mushing them against the side of the glass. Fill glass 2/3 with cracked ice and pour in the rum.** Pitch in the squeezed-out lime shell and top off with club soda or seltzer. Serve with a stirring rod. Perfect for dinner parties to wow your guests or even as an early evening drink in the sun. I actually love this without any alcohol in. Very refreshing for a daytime drink.

ABEILLE BANNER - coming soon

The launch of Abeille's first product!

The launch of Abeille's first product! Sorry for the delay uploading this post, It has taken up until now for everything to sink in. On Saturday we packed our bags (all eight of them!!) and got on the road by 8am on our route to Harrogate. Michelle and I were launching the first product for our Abeille Baby range. The Harrogate International baby fair is the UK's premier nursery trade event attracting almost every manufacturer and supplier of baby goods in the UK.... hence why we are VERY excited!! 20140327-192118.jpg We didn't even have time to unpack after our five hour drive so headed straight to the fair. The product we are launching are Cellular blankets.... but these essential items are not the basic, bland, crispy pieces of material that you are told to buy on your baby list. These Cellular blankets are Simple - YES... Beautiful - YES... Essential - YES. We have taken a simple, essential blanket and transformed it by using a beautiful colour palet, increased the weight to make it bouncy and soft on your babies skin, (it is after all the only blanket you will be requiring for the first few months) and worked really hard on a very stylish logo so that you will be wanting ONLY an Abeille cellular blanket for your baby. 20140327-192127.jpg It was a last minute idea that we exhibit, we only found out about the show about a month before, so with an incredible amount of effort - or I should really say Blood, sweat and tears from myself, Michelle and our manufacturers, we were very proud of what we achieved. Our stand looked beautiful and ready to entice any buyer passing by! 20140327-192137.jpg Michelle's beautiful little girl Charlotte was our lucky mascot indeed. We got an incredible amount of interest/orders and were pretty overwhelmed by some of the buyers that came to speak to us. 20140327-192146.jpg The days were spent on our feet from 8am to 6pm, chatting to interested buyers and getting tips from our lovely friends on neighbouring stands. 20140327-192159.jpg The evenings were spent drinking wine and filling in the boys with the days events. I officially have the best BBP (Best business partner) EVER! 20140327-192225.jpg Daddy day care went pretty smoothly. The boys were an amazing support to us, we couldn't have done it without them. Thank you Ben and Jon for everything - Best daddies ever! 20140327-192237.jpg Although they did learn the hard way that a day full of treats had concequences.... 20140327-192248.jpg Now I have a long list of people to call and email, designs to work on and meetings to arrange!! I do not know where to start??? But watch this space because in 3 months time Abeille Cellular blankets will be hitting the shelves... you saw it here first!

Lots of love and excited dancing round the lounge...

A LONG crazy day with a toddler...

A LONG crazy day with a toddler... I said to Florence this afternoon, whilst she was bouncing on my back slapping my side, "Are you trying to make my day extra exhausting?" and she replied with an excited screech "YES MUMMY!!". 20140126-202503.jpg My day started at 5am, I am quite used to this now as it seems to be her wake up time for most days. My friends suggested putting her to bed later but quite frankly by 7pm I want to sit down with a glass of wine and catch up with Jon. So it's 5am and she is pulling my eyelids up... literally putting her little fingers underneath my eyelids and forcing them open. To add extra pain to my sleepy head she turned the overhead lights on. Good morning Brighton!!! I rolled out of bed and can't resist throwing her up into the air and the sound of her excited giggle temporarily makes me forget about the early hour! Asking what she wants to do - her request is to go downstairs. So we pad down the staircase, turn on the heating... It has got cold! I make a coffee and we put on her favourite film - Peter pan. Florence has a slight obsession with Tinkerbell. She has the crossed arms and pouty lips down to a tee. I receive a message from my BBP Michelle seeing what we wanted to do today and because it is rainy we decided to go to a soft play center in Brighton... for our sins!! Luckily Michelle's amazing husband Ben came too which eased the pain a little - He is fantastic with our ever exhausting toddlers. Aptly worn out we head home and Floss is asleep in seconds, unfortunately this did not last long and was awake again in 25 minutes. So from 12.30pm Florence's games began. 20140126-202453.jpg We worked our way through every single Christmas present/game, we made bread, we played hide and seek, I said 'No Florence put that down/put that back/if you strangle Tooie (the cat) one more time!!!' on repeat about 30 times on repeat! 20140126-202512.jpg When Jon walked through the door at 6pm I collapsed in a heap on the sofa and couldn't string a sentence together. I felt I had to share this day because everyone always says that I make it look easy with Florence... It is not all the time. In fact as we approach her 3rd birthday in June I think I am in for a lot of days like this! 20140126-202522.jpg I am now sitting with a glass of wine, Jon is trying to get me to de-stress and as I keep telling him, tickling my feet is not the way this is going to happen!! Tomorrow is another day and I am going to make it a good one.

Date night with the hubby!

Date night with the hubby! It is really important when you have children to make time for each other. Jon and I are always doing something, but rarely sitting down for a meal and a chat with friends... minus a toddler! So when our good friends Zoe and Adam suggested going out for a meal as our Christmas presents to each other we jumped at the chance. All the time that we have had the Crabtree inn in Lower beeding we have been meaning to visit the award winning restaurant 'The Pass' in the gorgeous South Lodge hotel. 20140125-204259.jpg The service is wonderful from the moment you step through the entrance. We were greeted and taken through to the bar for a pre-meal cocktail. 20140125-204318.jpg You can see both kitchens for the 'Pass' and the 'Camelia' which is another restaurant in South Lodge. In most restaurants I hate seeing the kitchen but this is a completely different experience. 20140125-204338.jpg We chose the 8 course tasting menu which does not come cheap at £75 but being the foodies that we are we were happy to splash out for a special occasion. 20140125-204348.jpg It is like watching an operation when the chefs plate up each meal... the attention to detail is so precise. After our 8 courses, 3 bottles of wine, 2 rounds of my favourite dessert wine from Monbazillac, we got the bill and waddled our way round to the bar for one last cocktail. Usually on a night out me and Jon want to make the most of it and party the night away but we were so full and completely indulged, and after a wonderful evening with great friends we headed home and straight to sleep. Jon and I both woke up feeling pleasantly refreshed and after 9 hours of pure solid sleep we were ready to get our girl back. With two big dates coming up, Valentines day 14th Feb and Mothers day 30th March! It is the perfect place to treat a loved one. Book in advance though as it is very popular.
