Another sunny Brighton day

Daisy

Another sunny Brighton day I am currently looking at moving out to the country. One of the great things about Brighton is that when the sun shines, you feel like you are on holiday! So a few weeks ago the sun shone and we head out with a picnic down to the seafront. Florence loves being outdoors wherever we are, it is perfect for an energetic toddler. Lots of space to run around and free! 20140527-150801-54481555.jpg We are very lucky that most of our friends are child friendly... trust me some are not. So Florence had a great time chatting to everyone on the beach and playing with passing children. 20140527-150801-54481179.jpg We always go down to Morrocco's in Hove which is quieter than Brighton and Florence loves the ice cream there. 20140527-150801-54481008.jpg Jon introduced her to this VERY colourful Bubblegum ice cream........... luckily we only go every so often! 20140527-150801-54481361.jpg Lets hope for many more sunny days like this, I am enjoying the easy bedtimes because Flossie has been running around all day!

Oliver & Flossie hit the seaside

Daisy

Oliver & Flossie hit the seaside We had not had a good day out for a couple of weeks. Michelle and I try our hardest to see each other seperate to work... which does not happen enough at the moment. It is very easy to get swamped into the day to day life of a mummy and before you know it the weeks pass! So on a beautiful sunny day we hit the beach and succumbed to being a tourist of Brighton. First stop Brighton Pier... 20140415-141310.jpg Florence and Oliver enjoyed an ice cream and had a cheeky ice cream kiss which I just managed to catch a photo of. 20140415-141317.jpg The view from the pier was gorgeous, great photo opportunities. Florence and Oliver loved giggling, it was so infectious they didn't stop for about 10 minutes. 20140415-141302.jpg Michelle and I often joke about Florence and Oliver getting married when they are older, we couldn't resist getting a picture of this... 20140415-141324.jpg The rides on the pier looked a little scary... well me and Michelle tought so! So we decided to head down to the seafront where there are more toddler friendly rides. 20140415-141255.jpg They loved the little train which had individual bells in each section. 20140415-141334.jpg After they had been on a few more rides we felt we desrved a jug of pimms outside the Brighton music hall. The live music there is always good. Florence has a boogie whilst mummy gets to chill! 20140415-141344.jpg How exciting to think we have many more days like this over summer, Florence just loves spending long days outside seeing her friends.

Enjoy the weather

Scooter fun

Michelle

Scooter fun: We bought Oliver a scooter in April last year just before we went to Florida, at the time I remember thinking, was it a bit too early, Is he too small or a little young? I'm delighted to say the answer was no! Oliver adores his scooter & never turns down the opportunity to go for a little ride, it really is our saviour.20140104-212929.jpg I must admit I was nervous the first time I took him to Horsham on my own with Charlotte & the scooter but he really did listen & stay close. He knows he has to come off before every road & following a cheeky little scoot around Next & disappearing out of my site for a few seconds (I nearly had a heart attack) he now knows the scooter goes onto the buggy in shops too. 20140104-212948.jpg Horsham park is a great location for the scooter as the paths are wide & smooth, it has a lovely duck pond, a little coffee shop inside the pavilions where you can buy an apple juice & use the facilities (very handy when potty training). Horsham Park also has a great swing park, which is always a great way to encourage Oliver to scoot the last bit back towards the car. 20140104-212858.jpg We have always made Oliver wear his helmet before he gets onto his scooter which we initially practised on in the house when we first got it. It took only a few reminders before he knew that he must wear his helmet before he goes on his scooter & now it's the first thing he goes for when he wants to ride. Kids & parents alike may think it's not cool to wear a helmet but we are always being stopped on our travels to be told how fabulous Oliver looks & it really has saved a few nasty head bumps along the way. Rather safe than sorry. 20140104-212909.jpg Our other favourite place to scoot is on the sea front in Brighton or Hove, it's a great location for blowing the cobwebs away & to catch-up with the gorgeous Flossie & Daisy. Let's just pray this horrid weather clears up & we can get out a bit more often, although the aftermath is great fun, riding through puddles! 20140104-212919.jpg I bought Oliver's scooter & helmet from Jojo Maman Bebe I bought the waterproof trousers (which come in a handy little bag) from Mountain Warehouse, I keep these in the car & just slip them over the top of his trousers. 20140104-212940.jpg Happy Scooting! A family day out ice skating in Brighton

Daisy

A family day out ice skating in BrightonJon had a day off and after a crazy week getting the Crabtree ready for Christmas we decided to have a nice family day out. Getting into the Christmas spirit we decided to head into town, do a bit of shopping and take Florence on the ice rink that has been set up in the grounds of the Royal Pavillion. 20131204-205634.jpg After reading the rules we headed over to collect our skates, Florence had cute attachable which were great for little ones. 20131204-205543.jpg Such a great location for an Ice Rink, the Pavillion is a beautiful back drop!! 20131204-205656.jpg Florence was given a penguin to balance with, great idea for slightly older children, Florence still needed help from Jon. 20131204-205613.jpg I think Daddy got a little uncomfortable but Florence loved it and we managed 5 laps before she stepped off the ice and firmly stated that she had enough and would come back later! 20131204-205623.jpg Without having Florence to stabilize Jon (after telling me he had never been ice skating before) whizzed off at high speed....little liar! 20131204-205647.jpg I on the other hand had to hold onto the side for most of my time around, although last lap I managed to go all the way hands free! 20131204-214148.jpg If you are looking for something fun to do over the Christmas period then head down to Brighton Royal Pavillion and get your skates on. 20131204-205552.jpg There is also a gorgeous cafe that you can go and warm up in after you have burnt some energy on the ice. You can book online or from the ticket booth outside. http://www.royalpavilionicerink.co.uk

Have fun Daisy x
